Rallye Previews

April 18: March Forth 36 - Once again, we start the season with the annual running of this straightforward, no-nonsense, logic-driven rallye. March Forth is the longest running gimmick rallye with the same rallyemaster, Diane Rosone. This event features a short course, no checkpoints, and a mixture of logical gimmicks from the very simple to the devilishly difficult. Literal interpretation of the general instructions using definitions and order of precedence are the keys to success. Keep your thinking caps on tightly as gimmicks can sometimes sneak up on you! An excellent warm up to learn the basics of gimmick rallying or to sharpen up your skills for the rest of the rallye season. It's the first event in the popular Brand-X Annual Championship Series. Come and enjoy donuts at the starting point, a long-standing March Forth tradition.

June 20: Car Trek XI - Loosely based on the movie Star Trek coming out in May. We go back to the Car Fleet Academy in the early part of the Twenty-third century and see our old Car Fleet friends as they begin their journey in Car Fleet. See the NCC 1701 as it begins it's voyages. See the trailer, see the movie, run the rallye. (You do not have to see the movie to enjoy this rallye.) The commandeer of Car Fleet Academy is Jeff Lurie.

July 11: Field of Dweebs 17 - A sports-thematic rallye, this year features ice hockey as our hero Kevin Costly attends the historic outdoor January hockey game at Wrigley Field, coupled with the recent resurgence of our Chicago Blackhawks. In addition to an assortment of regular rallye-type gimmicks, you will be searching for physical evidence pertaining to hockey along the course, a notable feature of the Dweebs series rallyes. Keith Rosone has rallyemastered all of the Field of Dweebs events, beginning at age 11, 5 years before he was even old enough to drive! Now a seasoned 27-year old rallyemaster, he is known to have a devious streak and is famous for multiple level gimmicks designed to entertain the beginners and entrap the veterans! This is a fun-to-run event for sports fans and non-sports fans alike. It's probably not a coincidence it is on lucky 7-11 this year!

September 26: The Amazing Race - Winner of six consecutive Emmy Awards for outstanding reality show, The Amazing Race has been a very popular television show since 2002. Brand X Rallye Team offers you a local version of the show this season complete with Road Blocks, Detours, and Pit Stops. Find the clue boxes in order to finish each leg of the journey or you may be "eliminated". We promise this unique rallye to be unlike any gimmick rallye you've run before.

October 25 (SUNDAY): WHOOSH WITCH XLII - 42nd edition of the longest-running Halloween rallye in Chicagoland. Rallyemastered by Bill Wallace and Lou Kroma. 4½ hours of Sunday daylight (vs 3 hours of Saturday darkness) make this gimmick rallye the funnest of the year in many ways, and it’s about the only rallye you’d enjoy bringing your kids along on. Expect a longer drive through gorgeous autumn countryside that you can actually see, and a walking tour of historic Long Grove. This year’s event extends last year's concepts, with more remote-controlled creatures and intense Halloween decorations. You’ll be issued your own magic wand to cast spells, and you’ll meet the Charmed Ones in their pre-San Francisco environment (before they got so uppity). We encourage you to wear costumes, with trophies for the best adult and best child costumes.

November 21: UNRALLYE XLVI - Not a Gimmick rallye, this is the 46th running of The Mother of All Point-to-Point Rallyes. You do not follow Route Instructions, but plot your own course from one point to another on a map that we provide, answering questions at each point to prove you were there. He who visits the most points wins, and late penalties are high, so this is as close to a race as you'll ever get on the rallye circuit. You cannot visit all the points in the 3 hours allowed, so you have to make decisions based on distance, road type, and traffic (trains, too), to get you to the endpoint with the most points before time runs out.
